This document will guide you through the installation of the required tools to enjoy the full Babel experience. Please follow the instructions for your operating system.

|
### Mac OS
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Make sure you have the XCode Command Line Tools installed. To install these, run
|
|
|
```
|
|
|
xcode-select --install
|
|
|
```
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Make sure you have [Homebrew](https://brew.sh) installed.
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Install [GraphViz](https://graphviz.org) by running
|
|
|
```
|
|
|
brew install graphviz
|
|
|
```
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Install [gnuplot](http://www.gnuplot.info) by running
|
|
|
```
|
|
|
brew install gnuplot
|
|
|

### Linux (Debian-based)

* Install [GraphViz](https://graphviz.org) by running

* Download and install [GraphViz](https://graphviz.org). Check the box to add graphviz to the environment variables (or `Path`).

|
* Download and install [gnuplot](http://www.gnuplot.info). Check the box to add gnuplot to the environment variables (or `Path`).
|
|
|
|
|
|
* Check your `Path` system environment variable so that the installed programs can be found easily. Go to the Settings and then edit the value for the variable `Path` (in the list of System Variables). If the directories of the gnuplot and the GraphViz binaries are not there, add them now. Here is an example of how your `Path` variable could look:

C:\Program Files\GraphvizX.XX\bin;C:\Program Files\gnuplot\bin
